Video shown on Canadian news appears to indicate plane fell to earth at a very steep angle (almost vertical fall) after a climb and (intentional or not) barrel roll. Two puffs of smoke before impact may have been connected to pilot ejection? Looks like most of the fuselage came to rest in a field, can’t tell from reports so far if it clipped the house on the way down or if it broke up before impact. The video was taken from a distance (viewing from the airport, I think). Weather looked marginal, low ceiling about 2000 feet evident from video, reports say flights had been delayed by poor weather earlier. Where I live (higher elevation) it has been very foggy all day with scattered showers. The regional weather radar has been off-line for about a week now (located at Silver Star Mountain near Vernon BC) so I can’t say what sort of shower activity might have been in the area of the crash but on the video it was not raining visibly at the time.
Just looking at the video, two jets take off parallel, the one on the left immediately peels off and climbs rapidly, appears to stall and spin back down, two puffs of smoke appear in rapid succession and three or four seconds later there is a ground explosion hidden by trees. News reports say one of the ejecting crew (if there were two) landed on the house, not sure if any plane debris hit houses too, although just saw footage of what appears to be a wing segment burning in a front yard. The tail segment is also in the street and apparently hit a power line avoiding impact with any nearby houses. Same report says people in this house were in their back yard watching and were spared from injury. Most of the fuselage hit the field (which looks like it runs behind a row of houses). The plane was only about a minute into its flight if even that.
