Back when the Matrix was filmed commie red represented the Democrats and True Blue the Republicans, that changed in 2000. So taking the “Red Pill” could have been associated with the RAT party.

“Clap back” has become a polite derogatory statement. Sure, I’ll clap for you, slowly and annoyingly, not in praise.
