Ever since the Jews demanded a king instead of letting God rule over them, the problem of government run by men is a permanent one. No matter how it starts out, it will end up corrupt. We are beyond corrupt in all walks of life in the United States. The government is totally corrupt, from local to state to national levels. Companies are becoming completely corrupt. Instead of excellence and quality being the goals, it is becoming political, who is connected, who is sleeping with whom, who is paying whom off, etc., ad nauseum.
The problem is not financial bankruptcy, but rather a spiritual bankruptcy. Turn back to God and seek Him. Otherwise, the hand will appear and write on the wall again...
