No one is forced to work there.
If they have to pay more to hold onto talent in the more expensive states that’s their business.

Why is this being discussed? Is Facebook trying to cut their payroll costs?
I can understand, however, that someone could take a pay cut, in relocating from the expensive Bay Area, and actually have a higher standard of living in Boise or Knoxville.

It's a common deal - it's why folks in Kalifornia and The Big
Assholeer..Apple make higher wages - they live in high-cost of living areas...part of the "value" of am employee's work is directly tied to allowing the employee to be able to subsist.
NY State Teacher's salary: Avg Start $45K -- Avg Salary $80K
MS Teacher's salary: Avg Start $35K -- Avg Salary $43K
COLA of areas affect wages...
