I spoke to a friend of mine who lives in Miami. I asked him how it was going via COVID. He told me he was in quarantine and needed a haircut. He had to make an appointment and will do so on Tuesday, with a ton of restrictions.
I innocently asked him, since NY state has 23 THOUSAND coronavirus deaths, and Florida—with all its old people—only has 2,300 deaths—why that was?
He insisted that DeSantis is LYING about the deaths—there is more dead he’s covering up.
By a factor of TEN?, I asked. Yup, he says. I say come on, man. no way. The press hate him and would LOVE the chance to expose him. The press! he says, they’re all right-wingers!
I just shake my head at some peoples distorted views.
Even if I was not a conservative, Trump-fanatic FReeper, and only a wishy-washy independent, I would NEVER think the media is right-wing. Just nope.
Oh I get this from people I once respected. They watch the network news, PBS, read this tiny print, slick faced magazine called “The Week”, Etc. On Internet they follow Yahoo news. And they think they are fully “informed” and loaded for bear.

There was a coroner in California who got tired of calling auto accidents people with cancer, heart disease,stroke all covid deaths just for the money. So one month he reported the true number of 194 deaths in his county (I don't recall the county) and it was 6 due to the corona virus.
I doubt it's much different elsewhere.

So, this reaction from various people, How is this any different than what happened here on FR during the 2017/2018 Primaries?
The same level of unadulterated mindlessness spewed towards Sen. Cruz supporters?
Let up not forget, people are people, and the majority fall into that 80% under the Bell curve. Most are lazy and certainly unable to think critically, possibly because they have been educated in Public Schools and Universities.
