Tell that to states with sanctuary laws that thumb their noses at federal laws- For some reason- the feds won’t enforce federal law in such places-

The state is probably on solid legal grounds here — for the same reason that a state can refuse to help the FBI enforce federal gun laws.

Having said that, federal customs and immigration officials have a lot of leverage here. Just issue an edict that says vehicles with New York license plates crossing a border will he presumed stolen until the driver can prove otherwise.
