“Thousands of trumpet and bugle players, and other musicians across the nation, are invited to play “Taps” at 3:00 p.m. from wherever they are on Memorial Day to honor America’s fallen heroes.

CBS News’s Steve Hartman and retired Air Force bugler Jari Villanueva are joining forces to call upon American musicians to participate in “Taps Across America” as a way to keep the spirit of Memorial Day alive, even as traditional parades and other holiday events are cancelled due to the crisis caused by the Chinese coronavirus.

Hartman and Villanueva invite musicians from every corner of America, including music teachers and their students, to sound Taps on their front steps, porches, lawns, and driveways at 3:00 p.m. local time Monday.”

I hope to hear it loud and proud.

I was asked to be the national program director for a couple of nationwide events during lockdown. One drew 5600 families and the other over 10,000. Probably 50,000 people.

What a blast to be part of something huge and a blessing to so many.

My husband is all ready to play, either in the driveway or from the small covered area by the front door if it’s raining.
It’s completely against the HOA’s rules, but we don’t care. What are they going to do, fine us $50? That’s fine, here’s the check. Oh, by the way, he’ll do it next year too. Shall we pay the fine in advance?
