Report: Texas Naval Base Jihadi Secured U.S. Citizenship Despite Living in Syria
Breitbart ^ | May 25 2020 | JOHN BINDER

An accused terrorist who allegedly opened fire on United States Navy personnel in Corpus Christi, Texas, was able to secure American citizenship through a little-known immigration loophole, a former intelligence agent states.

Adam Alsahli, a 20-year-old naturalized American citizen, has been identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as the alleged terrorist who attempted to speed through a gate at the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi (NASCC) on May 21.

The FBI says Alsahli shot at a female sailor who was then able to prevent him from getting onto the NASCC base by raising a vehicle barrier. At that point, the FBI says Alsahi got out of his vehicle to fire more gunshots but was killed by security guards.

That’s not a loophole. All children of American citizens are automatically US citizens themselves. It’s pretty much the one thing that countries around the world have in common - citizenship is conferred from parent to child.

So, this kid had everything going for him other than one major problem. Islam.

When one asks the question ‘why’ there is only one answer keeps coming back to the question no matter how, or which way it is asked. Islam.

Any chance that this loophole, among many others, was brought to us courtesy of Rat Party Headquarters?

They have to do that...libel and slander laws.

And unnecessary also. You cannot slander or libel the dead. Notice they never use “alleged” when describing the guy Arbery tried to wrestle the shotgun from?

Only living can have their reputation smeared. The law does NOT require it.

Has the naturalization process been watered down? Once it could only begin after a certain number of years in the US,(I think it was 5 years) then a stringent process which included classes and tests on knowledge of civics and the US Constitution. It was not as easy as the process appears to be today.

Absolutely. My husband could not register for Citizenship until he had 3 years Residence in the USA. He did have to go to a Government/Civics class and also take a Citizenship Test. This was around 30 years ago. I also had to sign a paper that said that I would be responsible for him and that he would not ‘freeload’ off the USA.

My how times have changed. They should change back ASAP. We wouldn’t be in the shape we are in if we hadn’t had Clinton and Obama as pResidents.

No, but not as wrong as the idiot reporter who described him as having naturalized citizen.

It isn't always automatic.

For it to be automatic with only one parent a citizen, and the child legitimate, "For birth on or after November 14, 1986, the U.S. citizen parent must have been physically present in the United States or one of its outlying possessions for five years prior to the person’s birth, at least two of which were after the age of 14."

If the child is illegitimate, there are additional factors that must be met.

All wrong. Some paper requirement. Not every child $hit out by a person is automatically a 'citizen', if their dad is a US citizen. Vietnam would be full of 'citizens' running around.

The original problem is that his dad was allowed to immigrate here from Syria in 1984. Nobody should be able to immigrate from an Islamic background

His dad immigrated here in 1984, it’s a well-known standard around the world that second generation immigrants are most at risk to be a terrorist. Even more than the immigrants themselves.

This procedure that made the jihadi a US citizen is almost the same as that which US armed forces personnel have to employ when their children are born on a leased US Base overseas, (depending on the SOFA agreement with the host nation), to prevent their being citizen’s of that nation as well.

This is why such children cannot be considered as Article II eligible for POTUS. They are US citizens by statutes.

It used to be that if they could prove parentage, they could obtain citizenship. Since the 80’s, mere appearance qualified mixed-race individuals there (presumably born within a given time period) for citizenship:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%E1%BB%A5i_%C4%91%E1%BB%9Di#Mixed_race_children_in_Vietnam

The irony here is that the illegitimate children of full-blooded tribals with Vietnamese women would presumably not qualify on appearance alone.
