At the link, MP types who showed up--and not the sailor guarding the gate--killed the terrorist in a "subsequent shoot-out" after the female sailor had thrown the switch to block the entrance gate:
"Alsahli was killed in the subsequent shootout at the gate with Navy Security Forces, USNI News confirmed on Thursday."
Of course, if "all" the sailor did was reach the gate switch from a prone position after being hit herself--to block the terrorist's car from entering the base, probably saving many lives . . . I'd say she still gets a medal!
