The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the NIH, is funding the trial. The vaccine is called mRNA-1273 and was developed by NIAID, and Moderna, Inc., a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company.
“Finding a safe and effective vaccine to prevent infection with SARS-CoV-2 is an urgent public health priority,” NIAID Director Anthony Fauci said. “This Phase 1 study, launched in record speed, is an important first step toward achieving that goal.”

1. In late 2019 a new corona virus appeared in Wuhan China, and hidden from public view at the time by China government. Actual origin not yet proved in public, but following links are pertinent:

2. Covid-19 first appeared in the USA in late January. Trump was informed of this new virus and it’s potential to become a pandemic. He banned travel into the US from China and got strong objections from Congress, along with assurances from CDC and NIH (Dr. Anthony Fauci) that this was no big deal and worry was not justified.
3. A national emergency was declared by President Trump on March 13. President Trump was strongly criticized for overreaction.
Reliable tests for the virus were not generally available but “vaccine testing was already starting. The CDC “Contact” Tracing strategy was already in place but no significant testing available to be traced.
4. By April 11, the federal government approved disaster declarations for all states. Now President Trump was strongly criticized for being too late.
CDC guidelines and worldometer statistics provided by the CDC emphasized forcefully and consistently “Case Fatality Rates” and labeled them “Death Rates” which is deliberately misleading (explained be me many times before in several different forums).
This has been pure FEAR MONGERING at best. Actual population Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) is a few orders of magnitude lower (because “cases” is usually a tiny percentage of “infections”.
My opinion is that the real purpose of all this fear mongering is simply convince the public that this Covid19 “epidemic” is really an extremely dangerous “pandemic” and giving up our liberty is justified to prevent something worse than the Spanish Flu in 1917 with 50 million deaths.
The government motivation of course is to rapidly establish massive increases in the power of the political bureaucracy (DEEP STATE SWAMP).
The urgency is that it must be accomplished before President Trump is re-elected in November.
That’s not a camel’s nose under our tent. Its actually something much larger and much more dangerous!
Yeah we do. This is the third edition of a variant of this virus and the reason we have a jump start on the vaccines is because these are the older vaccines that were part way through trials when SARS or MERS went poof. It will be back, so get er done this time please. Many of us will take our shots, and hopefully we’ll have immunity the next time China lies and people die.
Yesterdays test positives in Michigan were four and a half percent of all tests. Total hospitalizations in the state under 1000. And yet frau Gretchen continues the lockdown.

If the Covid-19 pandemic was really a deadly as the fear mongers insist, you would think the total deaths each week in the USA would be significantly higher than in previous years. You don’t really need ANY covid-19 data to measure that.
This chart from the CDC displays (among other things) the total deaths from all causes for each week compared to the three year average of total deaths from all causes for each week in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Take a good look at the columns, especially the “Percent of expected deaths” (the number of deaths for all causes for this week in 2020 compared to the average number across the same week in 2017–2019.)
Click the little blue up/down arrow in the label to sort that column. You will then see when the increased deaths from this pandemic (or something) began and ended.
Specifically, it STARTED the week ending 3/28/2020 and ENDED the week ending 5/02/2020. All weeks before that period and after that period are LOWER than the average of 2017 to 2019.
Let me say that again: This Covid-19 EPIDEMIC (”Pandemic”) resulted in a higher than normal total USA deaths starting on March 21, 2020 and ending on May 02, 2020. That’s six weeks and done, folks.
We have had lower than average total deaths in the USA since May 02, according this chart.
This pandemic is now under control.

Sort the “Percent of expected deaths” to display which states had the worst impacts from this pandemic.
I’ll leave it to all of you to analyze those results.
And now the important issue is not whether the shutdown was justified in the beginning, but that it must be ended now.
And the next effort must be to recover from the severe damage this lock down has done to our country.
A lot of issues must be addressed to accomplish that.
1. End the tyranny of the arrogant politicians at all levels exercising petty, unnecessary, ineffective or arbitrary limitations on our liberty.
2. Halt the unbridled growth of unelected but extremely powerful regulators, especially those who failed in their missions to properly prepare this pandemic. Specifically, HHS, NIH, CDC, and FDA all enjoy and are influenced far too much through hidden political and financial connections to the medical, pharmaceutical, and food industries.
3. Specifically examine the published CDC strategy (currently disguised as “Contact Tracing”) but is in reality a huge effort aimed at “vaccination tracking and enforcement”. Not only is this potentially an unconstitutional violation of liberty, it proposes a need for 300,000 additional “administrators” (enforcers).
At the time that the "overreaction" occurred, it was in observance of the under-reaction by other areas - for example, Italy - resulting in their facilities being overrun, many doctors and nurses dying (100 doctors dying in Italy - obviously not typical), so many bodies their mortuaries and funeral services were overwhelmed, and needing the military to assist there were so many bodies to handle. There was no overreaction - there was simply an acknowledgement of the reality that had already occurred - facts and reality some wished to ignore and pretend wasn't occurring. Likewise, however, there are people ignoring the reality of how the disease is currently progressing and aren't letting go of where we were 6 weeks ago - as though we did not yet hit the apex, have not learned new treatments, have the equipment we need now, etc.
About a month ago, there were multiple reports indicating as the pandemic that was progressing the active strains of the virus were weakening. Assuming this is correct, yet another month has gone by, and if the trend continues, it could literally become another cold virus. Let us pray that is what occurs.
This thing is going to go the way of Zika and West Nile. In a year nobody will be talking about it.

And remember President Trump said something to the effect of ‘it will disappear in a flash of light/quickly’.
I’m guessing a lack of ‘quality control’ in Chinese manufacturing processes meant some released virus was ‘high quality’ (like in New York and food processing facilities) and some was pure crap (like the stuff put out in Florida). But that almost all of it will fall apart sooner than ‘guaranteed’ for...
That said, it’ also possible they’ll have a second release with a sister virus that plays off the weakness this first one has caused...
