Do it!
If he does, Democrats who were against the Afghanistan war will suddenly be FOR the war in Afghanistan. Just watch.
I think most everyone accepts the fact after we leave that hole, the Taliban will eventually return to taking over a large part of Afghanistan. Just a matter of time. These neanthethals were not built for democracy. He should withdraw after the election, not before, so as to deny the Dems campaign carping that Trump “lost” the war.
The force we tried creating out of nothing fell apart and went home whenever it saw any action. It wasn't because they were cowards, because they would fight for tribal territory, under tribal leadership. They had no interest in fighting outside of the area they lived, they didn't trust the leadership, and were only taking part because it was a job. It's disgusting we got into the mess we did by breaking basic rules of war that were known for over a century. The neocons were disgusting scum.
“He should withdraw after the election, not before, so as to deny the Dems campaign carping that Trump lost the war.”
He needs to finish the withdrawal just before the election so he can say he fulfilled his promise to end the war and bring the troops home but there isn’t time for the Demoncrats to portray it a a “loss”.
Keep in mind that, to re-supply our people, we have to go through Pakistan.
I think Trump knows something may be happening soon, that would make going through Pakistan a “bad idea”.
