Twitter, Inc. (TWTR) shares fell more than 2% off of their reaction highs earlier this week after President Trump announced plans for an executive order that would enable regulators to rethink Section 230 a law designed to protect tech companies from third-party content liability. The move comes shortly after Twitter flagged one of the president's tweets about mail-in voting fraud with a fact-checking label, drawing a bout of criticism.
While the executive order would mark an escalation in Trump's war against tech companies, the implementation would be up to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which are independent agencies. It's uncertain how these agencies would respond and assess the content moderation policies in place across social media platforms.

Has Trump actually signed something? It’s getting pretty late in the day.
He’s speaking now.
I see lots of political types suddenly opening accounts on Parlor.com. If Trump does too, I expect this will hurt twitter big time.
Thanks. Strangely no live feeds at Whitehouse.gov.
Twitter this week continued to add fact-check labels to hundreds of posts on its platform, a move that came as the Trump administration prepared to issue an executive order targeting the broad immunity that social media companies have over the content posted by their users.
The plans from the Trump administration followed Twitter's decision on Tuesday to add fact-check labels to the president's tweets for the first time. In response, Trump has accused the social media company of silencing conservative viewpoints and has vowed to respond.
Twitter's policies call for adding labels to potentially misleading information on subjects including elections and the coronavirus outbreak. The company this week added its fact-check label to posts from Zhao Lijian, a spokesman for Chinas foreign ministry, claiming that COVID-19 originated in the U.S. because the posts contained "potentially misleading content" about the coronavirus, a Twitter spokesperson told The Hill.
Multiple tweets from Zhao now include "Get the facts about COVID-19" labels directing users to news reports noting that evidence suggests the novel coronavirus originated in animals and not a lab.
Yet at the same time they actually removed the label from Trump’s initial tweet about mail-in ballots.
Laura and Eric Trump signed onto Parler yesterday, Katrina Pearson, Dan Bongino are all signed onto Parler yesterday if POTUS would move ALL of his followers to Parler twitter would get SCREWED come on POTUS get your patriots off of Twitter it is time for us to get away from these liberal cesspools and support conservative people trying to give s an alternative!! YES it will take a while to build up Parler but we have to start somewhere why do WE continue to reward Twitter with our presence???
“opening accounts on Parlor.com”
When I go there I see a “Parental Advisory Explicit Content” image in the top right of the screen. There is no way Trump will open an account there.

Drat. Just finished as I posted. The follow-up on the show will be good tho.
I suspect you meant Parler.com
The problem with Parler is that you’d be preaching to the choir. Twitter allows Trump to reach out to other voters who may not necessarily be on our side yet.
Trump might start beating up on Twitter and FakeBook as a real free speech issue and for getting votes. Same as he has always been beating up on the fake news such as Washington Post, CNN to get votes. (plus they are lying leftist scum)
I think this should make it go up.
If POTUS moved to parlor.com, media would read it to keep up with the latest news. Conservatives would move. NT(rumpers) would move to see what POTUS was up to. EVERYONE would move except the rank and file dims.
My prediction.
Neil cavuto was just saying president trump was wrong about mail in ballots. He did that instantly as soon as they cut away from the Oval Office. Neil cavuto sucks bad.
I never watch any of that crapola.
