Pressure was applied to the *side* of the neck. Not the back. You know, where the major blood vessels to the brain are?

Also, keep in mind this is the same ME that tried to avoid declaring that yet another Minneapolis police officer had shot a white woman whose only offense is that she had reported a crime. I wouldn’t believe a word they said.

Even on the side of the neck, that would cut off blood reaching the brain, and you might see him pass out. But he was claiming he couldn’t breath and that is done by pressure to the front of the throat. Plus the second cop said, if he’s talking, he’s breathing. I think he was having a heart attack. Only God and the cop know for sure how hard he was pressing down on the neck, and God ain’t talking just yet.

Oh bullcrap. She was an Aussie with zero awareness of the world US cops live in. The cops were in a dark alley and she ran up and slapped the car window as she suddenly appeared out of the dark. She startled a low quality affirmative action hire who torched one off.
He was relieved of duty, his hapless training officer who was damned near also shot, testified against him.
He got 12 years in prison for manslaughter.

There was no evidence he was suffocated or choked or strangled save it it’s done the medical examiner has spoken.

Turns out that procedure is completely legal in Minneapolis, it's in their training manual! AJ had a former cop on his show today and showed the Minneapolis restraining rule book concerning leg restraint applied to neck. I'm starting to wonder if they can convict that cop for anything.
