Once the dems got control of NY state senate, any chance of stopping things like this from happening went out the window. The legislature passed a law eliminating most bail, gave the accused the right to visit the crime scene, and address and contact info for any witness against him.

Republicans could make very effective ads against these policies for this year’s election, but they’d be branded as racist if they did.
