We Stand in Solidarity #BlackLivesMatter To the Etsy Community,
The past days and weeks have, once again, shone a spotlight on the tremendous injustices in our society. We stand in solidarity with our employees and communities who are voicing their anguish, anger, and deep frustration with systems that oppress and devalue Black lives.
We stand against police brutality in all forms. We stand against a criminal justice system that disproportionately targets Black Americans. We stand against the widespread disenfranchisement of Black and Brown communities whose voices are silenced at the polls.
Allyship with Black communities is as much a moral imperative as a requirement of our business.
We cant fight for small businesses, if we dont also fight for the empowerment of Black business owners. We cant hire and care for our Black employees, if we dont also protect Black lives everywhere. We cant be there for women employees, if we arent also standing up specifically for Black women. We cant advocate for parents, if we arent standing with Black mothers and fathers who fear for their Black childrens lives.
Black Lives Matter is the civil rights movement of our time, because it addresses a fundamental inequality in our society: that Black lives are too often undervalued. This notion inspired Etsys own internal commitments from diversity and inclusion to economic empowerment.
We also believe that its critical to provide support to organizations working tirelessly for criminal justice reform and those that assist Black-led institutions. Thats why today we are announcing donations of $500,000 to the Equal Justice Initiative and $500,000 to Borealis Philanthropys Black-Led Movement Fund, as well as matching employee donations. We encourage our community to join us in supporting these important organizations.
Etsy is built on a belief that communities have the power to change the status quo. Change is hard-fought, and we are committed to this fight.

What is an Etsy?
Is that an old Ford?
I have an Etsy shop and I saw it on my shop dashboard when I signed in to my shop today.. Etsy is run by lefties has been for a while now. I started a shop in 2006 and it was really different back then now not so much. I just ignore them.
A place to sell handmade goods and/or tools for handmade goods. It is probably the most recognized one.
Slickening. I hope the thugs burn down the Edsy HQ.
But mostly we stand for the free Nikes, TVs and cell phones our brothers were able to grab while pretending their thuggery and rioting had something to do with civil rights.
E Commerce platorm for handmade, supplies and vintage items.
They have been around since 2005.
They are a disappointing bunch at Etsy. They can be lefties and they can be this or that... but a million dollars is a lot of money and they state openly who the are supporting.
Do did i. I immediately unsubscribed and sent an email to the ceo.
Reminds me of Palestinians, the more the destroy and kill the more money they get.
Two paths for blacks this year, one, more jobs the other more loot.
Choose, election coming.
This statement from Etsy can’t possibly help sellers in there.. I am one.. and this is not the thing for them to be doing!! they become so sure of themselves and make mistakes like this one!
I just discovered Etsy last week when I bought my first, and as it turns out now, LAST, Etsy items. Glad I read this.
Etsy is a website where you can purchase vintage things, hand-crafted things (some beautiful stuff!), or the raw materials to make your own hand-crafted goods. It’s a very nice website, but unfortunately apparently run by idiots.
They were pushing the Net Nuetrality stuff too. They had a link that you could sign a petition in favor of. I just delete and ignore them.
Nextdoor is doing this kind of crap too with lots of links to help for racial justice, racial inequaility it’s insane. I just saw that yesterday.
I bought some Trump face masks from Etsy, first and NOW last purchase from them!!!
LOL
Pander much do they?
I don’t blame you one bit.
I am guessing the only kind of sarcasm you would recognize is the 2x4 across the forehead kind,
I really liked that site. BUT.
Cancelled my account with them earlier in the evening after getting an email from the company stating this.
