It’s tough racket, and a cushy sinecure at the same time. Tough racket because they need to stay within the bounds of the politically-acceptable to the liberal (is there any other kind?) media bosses, which changes randomly. Cushy sinecure because once you land that slot, you own it the way many union employees have a job for life, and all you have to do to keep it, is toe the line and provide anecdotes that reinforce the sacraments for your particular political slant/brand.

In my naivety I don’t see being a kept person as much of a defense but perhaps I have been lucky. I’m not much for unions either...
