Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields said in an email to employees late Tuesday that multiple law enforcement agencies have stopped assisting the department during the ongoing protests because Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard announced criminal charges against six officers involved in an arrest Saturday.
Atlanta, like cities across the country, has experienced continued unrest over the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police.
Shields said that although her officers had escalated a “low-level” encounter with two college students and behaved inappropriately, she never discussed charging the officers with the district attorney or Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Come to Idaho. We are full of friendly, LAW ABIDING Normal Americans and everyone carries a gun concealed including lots of woman. Crime is a rarity and when it does accure they are arrested quickly.

Try and find 9mm ammunition. One of my gun shops says 9mm ammo and weapons are a premium right now. That’s what I get for waiting till I got home to re-stock after the winter.

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms apologized Sunday for what she said was clearly excessive force used by Atlanta Police in the arrest of two young African Americans during the city’s curfew crackdown Saturday night after protests over the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week.
Bottoms said she ordered the firings of two of the five officers involved in the traffic stop after reviewing the body camera footage with Police Chief Erika Shields. The other three officers are on desk duty, pending an investigation.
Lose-lose situation for the mayor. They are LEO who used excessive force, but 5 of the 6 officers are black. Even worse (Politically) for the police chief who is white.

Both the tiny female Mayor and the tiny female Chief of Police were on the television talking tough about how “we’re not going to have this kind of behavior in our city”, 2 hours before this incident happened?
Then the actual full grown men that get sent out on the street to back up their tough talk get hung out to dry? Eff these people! You be the cops ladies!!
One reason they were so strident about that is that for every defender repelling, detaining or neutralizing a rioter/looter it’s just that much more proof that those two idiots are needless, useless and need to go.
