The indoctrination is appalling.
Here’s the question I ask my nephew when he comes up with “america is so racist” shtick. I ask him “Compared to what?” I don’t know if he’s gotten more cautious, or if he’s revised his views as he’s gotten older.
At college my daughter fell in love with Obama. She went to a rally he had on her campus and she called me on the way back from the rally saying “Dad, he is the greatest. He wants to change America!!”
I asked her “Dear, you’ve had a very good life with an excellent education, you work hard, you earn your good grades, and you want to get ahead. What exactly is it that you think needs changing?”
Silence. Then “Gotta go, Dad. Talk to you later.” Click.
My sister has been a school teacher for almost 45 years. Her classes have always had a good minority population and the last ten years she has taught in inner city Baltimore. She doesn’t have a racist bone in her body. Her minority students love her and often, years later, come up to her and thank her for making them work hard to get ahead.
Our daughter called her a racist last October. My sister absolutely exploded in rage and let her have it. It was just wonderful to see. I blasted my daughter for talking to my sister that was as well.
It really hurts when that crap hits your own family.
“Appalling” doesn’t begin to cover it!
