LSM FAKE NEWS-take it with a grain of salt. Reporters have no idea what is really going on. 82 airborne likely needed else where. First Cavalry Division from Ft. Hood was brought in, but I saw no mention of it. POTUS can move troops whenever and where ever, and there's no leaks.

It seems that reporters are dopey. LSM reporters print out of context, rumors, and made up stories--that's why they are FAKE NEWS. I don't believe any story they initially spin out-large grains of salt.
Whatever unit that is, it’s not 1st Cav.
That patch is on the right shoulder, not the left. The LEFT shoulder has the patch of the current unit; the RIGHT is the most-recent-deployment unit, the “pain patch”.
It just means that individual troop went downrange as part of 1st Cav some time ago.
