My conspiracy theory is that they were both in on a scam at the club probably involving counterfeit money and the laundering of it.
Floyd was about to break that scam wide open after being arrested by actually trying to pass one of the bills off as legit.
cop probably realized that by being totally jacked up on drugs and addicted the guy would have easily spilled the beans under heavy police interrogation..
The cop decided to nip that in the bud using a supposedly legit take down tactic thinking he could get away with it like in the past..
