I have written several congress critters on this.

They COULD delay this a bit if they simply remove some of the restrictions for those after they take early retirement.

Limiting what they can make before they reach full retirement age? Why?

And dont come around with some limp excuse. There is NO excuse for that. If those who take early retirement want to work, they should be allowed to make as much as they want and continue to pay the FICA tax at full employment-or whatever employment level they want.

What is it now? Just over 17 grand a year now till you reach full retirement age?

For what it’s worth, the 1996 welfare reform has actually worked. Cash (TANF) is a fraction of its former size. Woot for Newt.

This link is the best data but kind of a wall of numbers: https://www.acf.hhs.gov/ofa/resource/tanf-caseload-data-1996-2012

Haha Jim. Trying to flame the fires? I hope it does “run out”. Then the Fearpers won’t be able to lockdown the rest of us while they draw a monthly check from the government.

No, just deport the rioters, antifa loons, all left wing professors and the Deep State scum and we should save billions.

“They can cut off my SS Check the day after they cut off the EBT, Section 8 Housing and Welfare Checks, deal?”

They should cut out that crap, anyway. At least with SS, I paid into it directly and so did my employer. With EBT, Welfare, and Section 8, chances are the recipients didn’t pay squat into those programs.

Yes, they will save Social Security with a combo of printing huge amounts of money, so you will still get your check but a loaf of bread will cost $50.

They will also save Social Security by raising the retirement age. I could save it tomorrow by raising the retirement age to 99. Problem solved, right?

And some wanted a social security stimulus. That’d make this worse. Instead of sending the 1200 dollars, they should have put it in the social security fund.

...BTW - the experts have apparently been unable to explain the strong jobs reports just out...

Funny, since I can explain it in just a few sentences.

One of the basic tenants of capitalism is the concept of creative destruction. Essentially the fact that obsolete old jobs are continually being lost and they are replaced by new jobs.

Every year there is a new "most popular restaurant" in most cities. 25 years ago electric cars were a joke, now Tesla is more valuable than all the other US automakers.

Well, the corona virus lockdown has accelerated the process of creative destruction and re-invigorated the economy in doing so. We are in for a spurt of economic growth. And, the icing on the cake is that President Trump has declared war on regulations, which are a huge drag on our economy.
