Are we in a pandemic or not? a reporter from the Orthodox Jewish newspaper Hamodia asked New York Mayor Bill de Blasio Tuesday. And do we have one set of rules for protesters and another for everyone else?
Good questions. For nearly three months, the country founded to guarantee religious freedom has seen its houses of worship shut down. Following local and state executive orders, Catholic churches held no Mass. Communion wasn't taken, confessions werent heard, and Catholics went to their final rest without the comfort of the sacraments. Jewish prayer services, which require a quorum, were broken up by city governments or banned by state executive orders. New York City police were dispatched to break up a Jewish funeral and close down a yeshiva where Jews teach their children Torah.
My message to the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple, Mr. de Blasio thundered in an infamous tweet, after having dispatched police to break up a funeral: The time for warnings has passed. I have instructed the NYPD to proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups. This is about stopping this disease and saving lives. Period.
All this seems a little odd now. Protesters in New York and across the U.S. have gone unmolested while gathering in large groups, even as rioters smashed and looted and set fire to public and private property. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who not long ago said keeping houses of worship shut was essential to save lives, marched on Tuesday with protesters, his mask and his lockdown suddenly forgotten.

Obvious answer is obvious.
Denied to the to timid or those unorganized.
FUJR and FUGWB
It is a anarcho-tyranny
Democrat governors and mayors are using the riots as a weapon against their populations.
The answer is obvious, and one we already knew and have known for a very long time. The words “with liberty and justice for all” — are these words true and applicable anymore? The government has given itself the privilege of picking winners and losers, and there is very little “We the People” can do about it now.
In Contra Costa County, CA (Walnut Creek) it is against regulations for a group of 12 to gather socially., but it is ok for a group of 100 to gather for a demonstration.
Like Pa Wolf Calling people who protested for the right to work...”Cowards”....then he marches arm in arm with protesters.
These Governors and mayors are begging for civil war!
They do so because these groups are so easily misled.....
Im seeing a lot of High schoolers with skate boards. They are using the boards to wack the cops in the head.
Maybe they dont care if these idiots get Covid-19.
First thing you do is deny religious freedom, disband the cops and take guns.
Some pigs are more equal than others—everywhere and always.
The police need to turn away from deBlasio and let the mob have him. His personal security detail should to go on extended break. If there is anything left later, oh well.
My best guess is this contradiction will be resolved by a total breakdown in law enforcement.
This is a great article. Thanks for posting.
