Former President George W. Bush will not support President Trump in his effort to seek reelection this year.
People familiar with his thinking told the New York Times the 43rd president won't back his fellow Republican, who will likely face former Vice President Joe Biden in the general election.
Freddy Ford, a spokesman for Bush, said the former president plans to speak out only on policy issues.

George W Bush screwed up the second Gulf War.
Both are responsible for great loss of treasure and life of our soldiers. They won the war and lost the peace. Then Obama lost the whole damn thing until Trump corrected it with minimal loss of our soldiers life.
If one needs to war in the Middle East it is pretty simple if warring against a nation state. Kill the leaders, and we can sure as hell do this. Let that state decay into internal strife and chaos. When a new leader emerges if he is friendly make him our bitch. If he is not friendly kill him and let the process repeat.

It’s not that that Dubya couldn’t secure the borders and enforce the laws it’s that he wouldn’t because he wanted the country overrun with illegal aliens.
He was never really on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.
The real reason the Bushes hate Trump is he is attempting to reverse their life’s work and their daddy’s vision of turning the USA into North Mexico.
My biggest beef with George W. is that while governor of Texas, he lived 300 miles of the Mexican border. He had to know the problems with an open border. Then he became President and did NOTHING to secure our southern border.

I remember when I opened one of those pro-Bush threads, Bush was throwing the W sign (3 extended fingers), so I captioned the pic “This is the Amendment I’m going to violate next.” Got some blowback for that one.
He didn’t say he was going to support Biden. In fact he didn’t say anything. That’s just the reporter’s conclusion. Bush will probably just sit out the election and stay on the sidelines - just like last time. It’s just as well. Trump doesn’t want him or need him, and Bush pretending to like Trump would be really awkward and embarrassing.
It’s the Bush way, always being a weenie.
