Trevor Lawrence defends Dabo Swinney over ‘Football Matters’ shirt
nypost ^ | 6-7-20 | By Mollie Walker

A photo appearing to show Dabo Swinney wearing a “Football Matters” T-shirt surfaced Saturday on Twitter, leading to more backlash against the Clemson football coach who had already been criticized for his response to the death of George Floyd.

Swinney used the phrase in a statehouse speech for Clemson’s 2016 national championship. However, phrases like “All Lives Matter” or “Blue Lives Matter” are commonly associated with belittling the Black Lives Matter movement, which began in 2013 to fight systematic racism and has been the center of the recent national protests against police brutality.

The tweet showcasing the 50-year-old in the shirt has since been deleted by @OUsooner2010, an account that is no longer active on the social media site.

“Met Dabo today for the first time ever at the Reserve today and even though I went to Oklahoma for undergrad, he really is a great dude and nice as can be. Thanks for the pic Coach!!!” the tweet read.

It’s not confirmed the picture was taken this weekend.

It is not racist to oppose BLM. They are just one organization. They do not speak for all black people, not even close to a majority of them, for that matter.

Maybe I'll make a T-shirt that says

"My life matters
F' yours!"

I would make a lot of money selling it.

Yep. This is the equivalent of the Chinese Communist Cultural Revolution.

Everyone must be made to speak the party line. Failure to do so will bring censure and persecution from the government, and denunciation from every cowardly person who has previously toed the line to save their own job, reputation, or skin.

And if that was not enough from people who had to embrace untruths to save their own job, reputation, or skin, the denunciations come from those who didn’t have to do it to save their own job, reputation, or skin.

The denunciations will come from brainwashed youth, like the ones I saw lining the road from a local high school, from people who readily embrace the lies because they were already brainwashed.

Children will denounce their parents. Students will denounce their teachers and professors. Workers will denounce their supervisors.

People will be beaten, put on trial, marched through the streets by mobs (made up of BLM, Antifa, The Democrat Party, or their equivalents) with signs around their necks saying things like “I am guilty of crimethink/crimespeak/facecrime” while they are jeered.

That is what this is.

Yeah, combine the two. All Black Lives Matter.

It is really a mess for us that have always attempted to be respectful of everyone as we were taught. The worst part is that no citizens will be protected or safe.

I think this stuff is a mile wide and an inch thick.... The Liberals control our institutions and social media amplifies the conformity and moral preening... But the average person is in no mood for a revolution....they just buy into the romanticism of it...... Back in the 1960s a lot of record company executives hated rock music but they saw that they could make a lot of money off of it from all the hippie kids..... All these big corporations endorsing Black Lives Matter is just a modern day version of that..... In the end Bernie didn’t win.... People don’t want socialism, they just want radical chic

I hear you, but...never underestimate the power of a mob once it gathers steam. That is what I am worried about. Heck, most of the Leftists will be gathered in and chewed up by a tyrannical government they put in place...which I couldn’t care less about, but many of us will get chewed up with them.

When people compare what’s happening in America with the struggle sessions in China, what they’re leaving out is that what happened in China happened in a very short period of time...The modern day Left has been trying to bring America down for 50 years, but all they’ve really succeeded at so far is getting people to nod their heads along with some of their propaganda and follow PC speech rules... I’m more worried about the decline of religion, and all it’s negative effects than anything else... For every one woke White American, there’s 10 immigrants coming here from all over the world who love capitalism

I would disagree to an extent. The Communists had been trying since 1948 to enact what they eventually carried out in the cultural revolution. But they didn’t have the “problem” that we have in the USA-that people could actually resist and fight back, so they have had to take a less direct approach than killing millions of us over a short amount of time, though I doubt they would be squeamish about it if they thought they could do it.

Also, I would like to believe that for every woke White American there are 10 immigrants who love capitalism (though I admit that does sound like one of the 67.8% of statistics that are made up on the fly!) but I think only part of that is true. While I do know many immigrants who love capitalism and the American way of life, I believe in our current immigration system as constituted, many immigrants come here and do love capitalism because it gets money in their hands, but they think they can bring their failed politics and cultures with them instead of assimilating, which they are encouraged by the Left NOT to do.

Agreed...for those of us who have embraced it and observe it.

I worry for the people who even if they embrace it, never observe or practice it.

For sure, most of those immigrants are not Conservative when it comes to issues like big government, health care, etc..... but they sure as hell don’t believe in hard Left anti-capitalist rhetoric..... I always say that the Marxists would happily take Blacks, Gays, and women and feed them through a meat grinder, and go fracking for oil underneath Manhattan, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle IF they thought that doing these things would lead to a Marxist revolution..... They know that all this identity politics and climate change hysteria is just a means to an end..... so no matter how much people may naively buy into this stuff, if they’re not ready to give up their capitalist lifestyle, then the Marxists are just spinning their wheels
