From a health perspective you are correct. However, the mask serves as a persistent reminder of both fear (irrational as the fear may be) and control (by local Democrat/Left politicians). When combined with anti-social distancing, mask-wearing serves to restrict social interaction and retards the economic recovery we so desperately need, as it is difficult to be sociable and to conduct business when so many are walking around with vacant, untrusting eyes peering out over an ill-fitting mask, mumbling everything they say and looking more like they belong in a sick ward than enjoying life post-Chinese virus.
The mask fad appears to be waning -- as is the Chinese flu -- but as long as it continues this breathtakingly irrational fear of germs will continue to cause significant damage to our society and to our economic recovery, but it does serves the Democrat/Left's objective of thwarting Trump's re-election even as it damages our Republic and hurts, severely, so very many American families.
