We have become a stupid population. The southern generals were Americans. Top of their classes at West Point. They defended their states. When the war was over part of the reconstruction was to honor their place as American warriors. They were Americans in the end. It is a unique and honorable final chapter of a brutal civil war. Tye weren’t defending their states. They were fighting to preserve an economic system based on the use of slave labor.
And all of this bs aside about ‘’states rights’’ and “War
For Southern Independence’’ the fact of the matter is the South chose violent secession and instigated the costliest and bloodiest war in American history and they LOST!!. Get over it.
