I’ve been to that bridge, seen the SanPedro. It is a year around stream but much of the year a mere trickle a few feet across and inches deep. The river banks themselves are infested with tough prickly bushes and a good place for birds and other wildlife. But no doubt that intruders would and could walk right up the riverbed from Mexico into the US. A floodgate across the river is a good idea.

You’d think the enviros would have found a photo showing some water. Guess that would have required too much walking.

It has long been a guide and a support to those infiltrating on foot. They have water from the river to drink, and can hide in the vegetation, as well as rest in its shade.

Better than open desert.
