NHDem Senator: Working-Class Parents Don’t Have Intelligence to Oversee Their Kids’ Educations
NH Journal ^ | June 11, 2020 | Michael Graham

Working-class parents without college degrees aren’t capable of overseeing their own children’s education, according to comments State Sen. Jeanne Dietsch (D-Peterborough) made during a House Education Committee hearing on Tuesday. Dietsch was speaking on behalf of a Senate bill that would repeal a law allowing the state Board of Education to create an alternative program for granting graduation credits, which became Learn Everywhere. “This idea of parental choice, that’s great if the parent is well-educated. There are some families that’s perfect for. But to make it available to everyone? No. I think you’re asking for a huge amount of trouble,” Dietsch said. “Is it your belief that only well-educated parents can make proper decisions for what’s in the best interest of their children?” asked a dumbfounded Rep. Glenn Cordelli (R-Tuftonboro).

They really think this way, don’t they? They’re just choosing not to even disguise it anymore because the lame-stream media will not only protect them but will cheerlead.

Elitism for all to see.

Actually, government doesn't have the intelligence to educate people's children without the parents oversight.

And why don't people have more power over the public libraries their tax dollars support?

This myth that teachers are bright annoys me.

Education classes are a joke and the curriculum for teaching majors is watered down in the same classroom!

Minnesota has a high school gym teacher fro a governor and we see how that is working out.

Teachers are not the cream of the crop in college.

DEFUND THE SCHOOLS!

Allowing government to take over educational decision making from parents has been the biggest blunder we’ve made in this country. It’s allowed the wholesale brainwashing of our next generation with leftism.

Dog whistle meaning of "ideologically reliable".

Yes, they do. I worked around lots of liberals for a long time. They have a disturbing disdain and intellectual contempt for working class whites.

Walter Williams had a great term for education departments in universities: the “academic ghetto”.

If the working-class parents don’t have the intelligence to import a good working knowledge of the world, who does?

The working-class parents have a good grasp of the basic fundamentals of reading instructions, understanding spoken direction, and the calculations necessary to make their way through every day at work, and also are in a position to instill good work habits and work ethic in their youngsters.

Bona fides also correlate to where you live and the car you drive. Worked with someone who knew Ayers.

Amen to that! Government has ruined education just as it ruins just about everything it touches. Health care is another example.

“DEFUND THE SCHOOLS!”

Wouldn’t the establishment have a fit over that one? Don’t you know that government schools are wonderful and all teachers are self-sacrificing saints?
