An American Hero: Martha McSally
American Thinker.com ^ | June 13, 2020 | Elise Cooper

Dare to Fly by Senator Martha McSally is a book about life’s lessons told through her own experiences. Even though unfathomable crimes have been committed against her, she has persevered emotionally and physically. The senator has not let her tragedies define who she is, but her triumphs.

A graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Martha McSally served 26 years in the Air Force, retiring as full colonel. She is the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat and the first to command a fighter squadron in combat in United States history. She deployed six times to the Middle East and Afghanistan and flew 325 combat hours in the A-10 Warthog, earning the Bronze Star and six air medals. First as a congresswoman and now as a senator, she represents the people of Arizona.

She was able to soar into the skies after overcoming a height requirement. It seems she was a half-inch too short. But her persistent personality came forward. McSally noted, “It paid off because I received a waiver letter sighting my successful cockpit evaluations, athletic, and academic accomplishments, so they made an exception.”

Her grittiness seems to be inherited from her parents. At the age of twelve her father died, and her mother became a single mom, having to raise five children on her own. “My mom was struggling in her own grief, yet she went back to school to get her Masters. She chose to put one foot in front of the other. This taught me to push through adversity.”

McSally strikes me as the second-coming of John McCain. I’m sorry, but every time she opens her mouth a bunch of Rino gobblety-gook drops out. Must be something in the water in Arizona.

And a book like this is usually the re-introduction of a candidate looking for higher (much higher) office. And beware: this tactic is from the Democrat playbook.

She is running non-stop attack ads against Mark Kelly for being a Chinese puppet. Probably true, but she would be a lot better off hitting his anti-gun policies right now - especially in Arizona, the unofficial gun rights capital of the USA. The tone of the China ads make McSally sound desperate.

If the article’s author was directly quoting McSally’s book in the discussion of her need for a height waiver, I’m left wondering who screwed up the spelling of “citing.” I guess it really doesn’t matter because the AZ GOP has done little to advance conservatism since Goldwater and even he went mushy in the 80s.

The time to get rid of her was the primary. We are stuck with her and MUST vote for her if you live in Arizona. If we only get 90 percent from her, it’s better then the 25 percent from kelly that we’ll get. Plus, we lose this seat, we’ll probably lose the senate as Maine, Colorado are most likely goners. Maine has that rank voting so we never do well in those. So are we ready for a democratic senate????? I say we are our worst enemy. Even Romney who I can’t stand at least gives us a number for majority and he’s voted for every judge trump put up. We lose the senate then kiss judges goodbye.

Many have first-hand knowledge as to her true character, as well as her selfish nature, and jumping the chain of command and going straight to congress when she had all sorts of options available to her when she objected to off-base standards of dress in Kuwait.

Kelly will be a Chuck Schumer puppet. That’s who McSally is running against. We need better candidates, but no one steps forward.

The time to get rid of her was the primary.

We had Kelly Ward, who I liked because she dared to run against McCain in his last primary. You also had Joe Arpaio running, which annoyed me because he is 87 years old. McSally was the political machine choice. She won the primary then lost to a RAT. Our Governor gave her a second bite of the apple after he appointed her to take McCain's seat!

I’m not convinced of that. Even though I despise Kelly, he leads in all the polls by convincing amounts. Most of us have had to hold our noses to vote for McSally, and it seems fewer and fewer people are willing to do that. Kelly won’t win by a convincing margin but he stands a real chance because people here can’t stand McSally and simply won’t vote for her. I’m not saying it’s right or good, but she inspires apathy in a lot of Arizona voters.

Isn’t their a primary in 2020 or did they have it and the voters chose her?

Look at in the Big Picture of Team Trump & McSally that will lead to both Trump and McSally winning Arizona!

They choose McSally in the 2018 primary. She lost in the General. McSalley is now running for the seat held by McCain then Jon Kyl. Gov. Ducey slipped McSalley in after his reelection and after Jon Kyl vacated the seat. There is a primary this August with a rich business man opposing but McSally is still the choice of the McCain machine . Whoever wins this time only gets 2 years before they have to run again.

The De-Fund the police movement in Phoenix will help her a lot. Her opponent will have to defend it or risk the anger of the left. As we get closer and there becomes no doubt that the Dove Dimwit is not coming close to beating Trump, Trump will practically move to Arizona to save that seat.

I don’t think she stands a chance, she is tied too closely to the McCainiacs. We are probably going to lose this Senate seat unless she gives the people of AZ a good reason to vote for her, she has run a very lousy campaign so far. She needs to put as much distance between McCain and herself as possible.

I hope you are right, but McSally has little grassroots support here. Maybe Trump can drag her over the finish line.

The dyke would have slaughtered Kelly Ward.

Unfortunately no one strong and good was interested in running so I fail to see who else the Governor could have appointed. I wish Kyl would have stayed.

McSally will lose 10 percentage points because she’s A) A cold fish, B) RINO, C)Doesn’t know where Arizona is, and D) Refuses to campaign.

Unknown if she can lose 10 points and still manage a victory.
