I agree. Having the skills to be a truly good lawman is quite rare. I always think of the example of Wyatt Earp the way he was depicted in Tombstone. Relaxed, calculating and always looking to deescalate the situation.
Cops were so much better 40 years ago when they only had six shots in a S&W revolver.
So was this shooting justified? I have not heard enough to even guess. I'm hearing suspect fought officers, grabbed taser and attempted to engage officer with the taser. That's a justified shoot situation in my mind as the suspect could easily tase an officer then take his firearm and use it. On the other hand I'm hearing he pointed the taser at the officer while running away. Running away is an automatic no shoot situation. I need to hear more details. It's crap timing that's for sure.
But then Police Departments had to be aligned "With the Mainstream of 20th Century Thinking." As Patton said, "God I hate the Twentieth Century!"
