The mess won’t last. That UC Berkeley professor’s letter shows the mess has no foundation other than perhaps some cops need to think twice before using deadly force and on top of that being photographed doing it.
If you’re not up to no good then why be concerned?
Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. Romans 13
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you..Hebrews 13:17
One day our side will wake up to the reality the we have them surrounded.
Them: Blue areas.
We need good cops to lead, while the blue areas cut police, we will hire more police.
We: Red Areas.
If I was a cop, I would be learning to code right about now. No one needs that grief
That’s what we are devolving into - 2 warring opposing sides with their own “security forces” Civil War 2.0. Red vs. Blue instead of Blue vs. Gray. Brother fights brother again. The polarization has become too great to overcome without violence at this point. Only a reckoning will sort this out now. The breakup of the USA was always the globalist goal, and we are entering the first real stage of it.
All those things I listed revolve around the police assuming you are guilty. You don’t have to be up to no good for the police to decide you “don’t look right” for this area and suddenly frisk you. Or to be pulled over for a sobriety checkpoint. And given how often cops get the address wrong on no knock raids being in your own home at 3AM is now cause for concert.
Cops are NOT leaders. Their job is to SERVE AND PROTECT. Not stop and harass and assume you must be up to something.
Agree totally. There are bad cops. Our state police have a terrible reputation. There are some great ones but there are no guarantees when you dial that number. Also the laws we have and the liabilities are insane. The government trying to be a moral force does not work. Moral life is taught young and then is driven from within.
Absolutely. Many officers are so far in, it is too late to change careers.
But you have to be insane to be white and want to work in a Metro PD.
Take Atlanta for instance. They fire officers for using tasers, now an officer hesitates to fire his taser, and the drug/alcohol addled moron, takes the taser and attempts to fire it at the officer, causing a shooting.
If the officer is incapacitated with the taser, the perp can simply take his gun and end his life.
Who wants to be put into these situations.
Liberalism is a mental disorder and it has taken policing away from the police, due to a minuscule amount of bad cops, as evidenced by statistics.
Cops aren’t the only ones abandoning their jobs. I’ve ran across a few truckers that refuse to deliver goods to rat infested areas. I suspect others that provide goods and services are doing the same.
I have a feeling the best thing Trump can do is let the respective mayors and governors show their voters just how good they are at bringing law and order back as well as the normal flow of goods and services.
If they cannot, come election time they are gone. If they are still there, then the voters got just what they’ve wanted all along.
I’m shocked big city cops haven’t all walked off.
Mundane arrests (DUI in this case) become attempted murder of a cop now.
“I understand the cops feelings in blue areas where the politicians stab them in the back..”
‘Tis true. But what’s further puzzling is anyone wanting to enforce some of the filthy laws promulgated by these filthy politicians. For instance, my conscience wouldn’t allow me to arrest someone for selling individual cigarettes, having a 15 round magazine when 14 is the limit, etc. When they sign up with these big democrat city departments they know...or should know...what they are getting into so apparently their consciences are okay with it.
I will always support officers.....because in todays world they are the targets rather than the lowlifer criminals they go after......and I don’t care how they treat the criminals.
You are part of the problem then.
Spare me the “You are part of the problem” BS! That’s leftist talk.
“You are part of the problem then”
No, you are. Cops shouldn’t have to deal with attempted murder when they make mundane arrests for minor offenses.
Several years ago, I put those 3 x 5 decals on all my four cars. I get a wave once in a while, Im guessing from a cop or detective in an unmarked car.
I have a County Sheriff’s support badge on my truck. I got stopped by a local town cop who was lecturing me sternly over driving 33 in a 30 (!) and a lane change without a signal. I attacked him! (No I didn’t). I sat there patiently and silently listening, with my hands on the steering wheel in plain sight. He noticed the badge and suddenly was trying to not smile. He told me to slow down and left, never even checked my license, etc.
I should have attacked, maybe next time.
Not joking — moving to Costa Rica soon. I can do it immediately if this goes south as quickly as I predict.
Police organizations and concerned people at the national level with the means could nip this in the bud by giving us a test case to consider.
Go to Minneapolis or Seattle and hire away every single cop in the next 30 days. Give the city councils exactly what they are asking for.
Been watching a lot of videos about Gdansk, Poland recently. I think it would be a great place to live.
Don't call me Dim no more, officer call me.
