Cuomo threatens Manhattan, Hamptons shutdown over lack of social distancing
NY Post ^ | June 14 2020 | Kate Sheehy

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday threatened to shut down Manhattan and the Hamptons again if residents don’t adhere to the state’s social distancing rules.

“We’re not going to go back to that dark place because local governments didn’t do their job” and people don’t take the proper precautions amid the coronavirus, Cuomo said.

He said the state has received 25,000 complaints about health-safety violations since the start of the pandemic — an “alarming” figure that mainly involves bars and restaurants.

He should investigate his brother Fredo (Chris) for that unmasked quarantine breaking trip to the Hamptons where he threatened and insulted a local bike rider.

Are we sure this isn’t satire?

I guess it is ok if you call it a protest event, break a few windows, loot a store or two then have a Church Service ‘just happen’ to break out
OR
Have that backyard BBQ...

That racetrack was brilliant last week but wonder how long the owners will stay out of jail...

Can they fly the Stars & Bars if they put the rainbow below it?

It would certainly be satire if the complaints were all from NYC subway riders.

If you wear the mask, social distancing should not be necessary.

If you keep social distancing, the mask should not be necessary.

But if in fact the COVID-19 Wuhan virus is nowhere nearly as lethal as once imagined, then what is the point of either? Washing hands and not touching to face should be sufficient in and of themselves.

The COVID-19 Wuhan virus is for all practical purposes not as deadly as some strains of influenza have been in recent years. And that remains an acceptable risk for virtually everybody.

This whole lockdown situation has to get to SCOTUS. I sincerely wonder if,under the UNITED STATES constitution, Governors and Mayors have the kind of power they claim to have in a health situation ("pandemic") for months and months at a time.

To give one example...Massachusetts has a Trump hating RINO Governor (who's actually even stopped *pretending* to be a Republican) who instituted just about the most draconian rules found anywhere in the country.Somebody sued him,in Federal Court, regarding his declaration that gun shops were "non-essential" and, therefore, must close.

The Federal judge declared that that ruling violated citizens' rights under the 2nd Amendment and ordered the gun shops to be reopened.

So following that logic do *all* US citizens have a right to engage in commerce? Or a right to do what it takes to feed themselves and their families? All US citizens *certainly* have the right to worship in the way they choose.
