True. More OTR carriers will pay only $1600 or so for the first 2 months of driving. Lets see. 70 hours per week driving at $400 ends up to be $5.33 an hour. Even after that, its $0.35 or so a mile. Loading/ unloading, office time, dispatcher delays, waiting for loads, weather and traffic delays, pre-trips are on your own dime. After a few years, yeah, $20 an hour equivalent.
