I’ve worked with many nurses who had 2 or 3 jobs. If you want to work and can only work part time, get 2 or 3 part time jobs. (Hint -— you MAY have to work -— GASP -— more than 40 hours a week to make ends meet!) Do you know WHY immigrants do so well in our country? It’s because they’re willing to work as many hours as it takes, at any job they can find, and live in a small place with several extended family members, in order to prosper. And I’m talking legal immigrants. And they DON’T gripe about it; they’re thrilled for the opportunities.
(As far as the software industry, THAT’S the government’s fault for allowing it, and chain migration. You really can’t blame the immigrant. But my above remarks are NOT referring to software workers, but to lower income people).

You can blame the immigrant, especially in software. They bring their entire racist and castist Indian Culture with them. Once a single Indian gets hired, all other Non-Indians are gone within 6 months to a year.

Working in software engineering for over 30 years (nearing 35 years) means only jobs outside the field are part-time minimum wage manual labor work. Things I can not do due to arm, back and knee and other medical problems. Plus living a white-collar existence for my entire life means I’m severely lacking physical strength department. I tried since the big furlough and could not lift the weigh needed constantly, and the bending trashed my knees even more.
