It wasn’t murder. But it probably was voluntary manslaughter.

Hell no.

Tasers are less than lethal when used by a trained officer.

If a perp puts you into a 50,000 volt convulsion. The perp can easily take your gun and end your life.

Self Defense acquittal, coming.

"The term voluntary manslaughter is used to refer to intentional killing. However, in involuntary killing, the person who commits the crime has no prior intention to kill. ... On the other hand, involuntary manslaughter occurs when a person dies due to the recklessness or irresponsibility of the defendant."

So white on camera and with people yapping and yelling at him, he tried and succeeded basically strangling a guy with his knee.

I get how nasty the whole thing looks. But unless the guy is both a sociopath and total idiot (or totally enraged by whatever Floyd did prior, which we haven't seen on camera) ... ... I just don't buy it. Sure there's a chance of it, but I think it's more likely he executed an approved restraint against a guy with possible exited delirium.

As far as I'm concerned -> it's going to be much worse for the country if he's found innocent or of involuntary manslaughter or less ... but I'm not buying intent. NOT ON CAMERA with people yap yapping. Doesn't add up. I can even accept he's totally capable of 1st degree murder. That is, I'm not arguing or Chauvin's kindly heart. But you watch that thing and he is unphased. My best guess is what's going through his mind is "my neck hold isn't going to be the the thing that kills him, it's approved, I don't want to hold down this scumbag with my hands in the middle of covid but I DO have to restrain him, I'm certainly not going to extend any extra care for him, the ambulance is on his way, so I'm holding him her with my knee in a city-approved restraint and I'll let the medics deal with whatever the hell is going on with him."

That's how I explain a guy doing what he did, without any emotion WHILE ON CAMERA and knowing he was on camera. Otherwise, he not only committed murder but did so knowing he was ruining his life - which one might do if totally enraged. He has no expression on his face suggesting any high emotion.

Here's the ONE murder explanation I could see -> whether he ever says it or not ... "I've been dealing with this for so long, so tired of it, the guy did something in the car that enraged me, and something took over, I snapped, and I coldly just wanted to see him die, I didn't care anymore." ... Possible and even plausible, but improbable.

I could be totally wrong. It's not like I think I know what happened. But the pieces that include intention or voluntariness do not add up.
