A leading Democratic lawmaker asked the CIA for answers on an undisclosed advisory board Secretary of State Mike Pompeo organized during his time as head of the spy agency.
Rep. Stephen Lynch, the head of the oversight panel's national security subcommittee, expressed concern that the activities of the board may have been inappropriate and that its members were more likely to be wealthy, influential individuals.
"To date, the CIA has refused to identify the individuals selected by Mr. Pompeo to serve on the External Advisory Board during his tenure, as well as the role of his wife, Susan Pompeo, a private citizen, in organizing these events,” the Massachusetts Democrat wrote in the letter. “It is imperative that the CIA remains independent of undue influence from partisan political interests."
The concern is that Pompeo, a former Republican congressman from Kansas who served as CIA director from January 2017 to April 2018, may have been using the board to curry favor with influential businessmen and politicians.

When you “express concern that ... activities may have been inappropriate” , that really means “I have no evidence of any wrongdoing”.

In my view, Pompeo, ever so rightly, wanted outside advice, as part of appropriately weighing what the permanent bureaucracy at CIA was saying.
The Democrat idea that ALL the folks at the CIA are “nonpartisan” is pure bull shit; as they would very well say themselves, and have said, whenever any major CIA view was not to their liking. Again, the Dims just keep showing their hypocrisy.

LOL, despite hit movies that’s all the CIA is, an enforcement arm for the business, banking and political elites. That is all it has ever been. It has exactly nothing to do with the US Constitution, the Republic, our freedom, etc.
CIA does a lot of operations congress never knows about because they can’t be trusted.
And also that’s the same reason the CIA hides it’s activities from the President. It has always operated independent of the US government, and never in any manner that the founders would recognize as constitutional or loyal to America.
