The attorney for former Atlanta police officer Garrett Rolfe, who was charged with felony murder in the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks, says the Atlanta district attorney demonized and repeatedly lied about his client during his showboating press conference.
Defense attorney Lance LoRusso said D.A. Paul Howard falsely claimed that Rolfe had kicked Brooks after shooting him and had shot Brooks in cold blood while the suspect was running away.
It was shocking to hear that because its not true, LoRusso told Fox News host Laura Ingraham. My client never kicked Mr. Brooks. If there was a video of my client kicking Mr. Brooks, you would have seen it.
LoRusso also said the district attorney falsely claimed that the Taser that Brooks stole from Rolfe was not a deadly weapon. Just two weeks ago, Howard insisted that the Taser is a deadly weapon.
LoRusso continued: Im getting tired of people saying that Mr. Brooks was running away. Mr. Brooks turned and offered extreme violence toward a uniformed law enforcement officer. If he was able to deploy the Taser, it would incapacitate Officer Rolfe through his body armor. And at that point, if he decided to disarm another officer, he would be in possession of a firearm.

There is video of it
let me see if I can find it
might have been altered
i didnt view it
Reminds me of Michael Nifong’s behavior and the Duke Lacrosse scandal. May the same fate await Paul Howard.
I hate to say this, but facts no longer matter to the majority of Americans.
If indeed this is brought to trial, Officer Rolfe’s lawyer should require a properly diverse jury, and that means no fewer than 4 white males on the jury.
Any less than that, move to declare a mistrial.
Our side isn’t usually the ones to argue for this new virtue of “diversity”, but we need to learn when to use it to our advantage.
Protecting the citizens of atl. I notice someone in the picture didn’t read the mask wearing instructions. Which I see a lot of in my travels around town. Probably 40-50% worn in a similar manner. Kind of defeats the purpose.
This DA needs to be impeached immediately
He also stated that Mr Brooks was “peacefully sleeping in his car” at the beginning too. Utter BS.....
here is why

I cant do the netipot thing but I am using Nozin..which you can now only buy directly from them.
wouldnt use it often because it probably damages the lining of your nose if used too much
The DA is being investigated for financial issues and two of his deputies are trying to unseat him because he is a terrible DA.
The lies are getting more blatant as they are used by the media to form the “truth” before the Actual truth gets out there.
Clearly
I strongly doubt that this can get anywhere near a trial before next year.
Neil Med Sinus Rinse unit. Been using it for decades. Once to twice a day.
I listened to the press conference. The D.A. seemed to be trying him right then and there. A prosecutor delivering his opening and closing statements.
The officer was declared guilty in front a national television audience and the city of Atlanta. Good luck finding an impartial jury.
Love the picture of the guy NOT wearing the facemask correctly......
Whatever feeds the rage craze and black pity party is what the press will report.

Attorney says DA rushed to charge officers involved in Tasing of college studentsBy: Richard Belcher, WSB-TV
Updated: June 8, 2020 - 6:11 PMATLANTA The attorney for two Atlanta police officers charged with aggravated assault says the district attorneys contention that the officers use of a Taser amounted to assault would turn law enforcement on its ear.
The city fired officers Mark Gardner and Ivory Streeter the day after the incident in which two young people were shocked with a Taser and pulled from their car downtown.
District Attorney Paul Howard issued arrest warrants for Gardner, Streeter and four other officers. In total, four of them were charged with aggravated assault, a serious felony.
Aggravated assault in Georgia is described as assault with a deadly weapon or with any object, device, or instrument which, when used offensively against a person, is likely to or actually does result in serious bodily injury.
