The Senate on Thursday voted 51-42 to confirm Trump nominee Judge Justin Walker to the second-highest court in the country, marking the 199th Article III judge confirmed to this point in the president's term.

The vote was nearly along party lines, with only GOP Maine Sen. Susan Collins joining Democrats in opposition.

Walker will join the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, where he previously worked as a clerk for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Walker also clerked for former Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and served as an intern for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and a speechwriter for former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

“Controversial”

Usually means not a pinko.

He didn’t like Obamacare: “The judge underwent a tense confirmation process, which included allegations of political bias from Democrats over his past comments on the Supreme Court ruling that upheld the Affordable Care Act, also known as ObamaCare. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., even used the photo of a boy with muscular dystrophy who benefited from the ACA to criticize Walker’s previous comments against the ruling.”

I wonder if the friendly neighbourhood media described any of The One’s picks as controversial?

Sadly at this point we have absolutely no guarantees that these “good Conservative picks” won’t sell us out and stab us in the back in the mold of Gorsuch & Co.

Justin Walker was selected because he is a protege of McConnell and a member of the Federalist Society. He also clerked for Anthony Kennedy and worked in the Bush administration.

He is suspect.

"I like those numbers.

Must have read my mind... {:-) They are the best we can hope for...

Those are the best indicators as to whether the judge will have at least a 50-50 shot at turning out to be an supporter of the Constitution or just another Leninist-doctrine lackey...

Good news, but we saw today why SCOTUS is most important. No more Souters, no more Robertses.

Justin Walker was selected because he is a protege of McConnell and a member of the Federalist Society.

We've seen what a recommendation from the Federalist Society gets us: judges who twist old laws into whatever shape and form pleases them.

The definition of ‘controversial’ should be changed to changed to “Something that is not woke or leftist.”

Anything President Trump does or does not do is controversial in today’s media.
