I cannot write anymore, unless it is under a pen name. Out of fear that what I would write about BLM, socialism etc. will get back to management and have me dismissed (and I'm in a government job).
It is practically killing me to get my ideas out in the open and unable to do that. The term "chilling effect" has never been more appropriate than now.
It's not just unpopular views. In fact many people/views attacked are, in my experience anyway, very popular, very common.
The views being attacked are any that conflict with the leftist/fascist agenda, regardless of popularity, correctness, or common sense. The left is increasingly using active/direct measures. Not satisfied with social media based public floggings, not satiated by taking bakers and photographers to court... The left is now mobilizing for full-on direct action. Burn, loot, vandalize, threaten, attack, even kill.
The left is pulling out all the stops to try to stop President Trump's MAGA agenda. Look for 2020 to be the year of fear. It is going to be a wild ride up to the election.
