Shocking images have revealed the depth of the unemployment crisis in the coronavirus pandemic, after thousands of people in Kentucky lined up to wait at a makeshift unemployment office.

State officials on Tuesday set up the makeshift unemployment office near the State Capitol, hoping to offer assistance to outraged residents planning to hold a protest there over their unpaid benefits.

Governor Andy Beshear, a Democrat, has said the most updated numbers he has show 7,566 unemployment claims from March still remain unpaid, along with 27,507 from April and 17,619 from May.

I know that this may come as a very novel idea to some, but it seems to me that actually looking for a job would be a better use of that time.

Communist bread lines. Coming to a state near you. Live on your feet or die on your knees.

It’s not just Kentucky. My wife has been waiting for her disability pay since March in NJ. They told her several times they never received the paperwork. Her and her doctor had to fill it out 3 times. Still waiting.

Whole lot of stalling going on.

Why waste even 8 MINUTES looking for a job that you can lose on a moment’s notice just because some @sshole in public office deemed your employer to be “non-essential?”

Now there is some irony. COVID puts millions out of work. Then the unemployment checks disappear, so thousands stand in line to complain about their checks...AND get exposed to COVID.

I love the South but efficiency is not its strong point.

THIS is why the unemployment rate each week is still trickling in at 1.5 million claims per week: The State systems are overloaded and cannot process any more than that.

I tip my hat to Texas Workforce Commission. It was hell trying to get through for several weeks, but the two reps I spoke with had me squared away in a couple of days.

Agreed, but that’s back pay they’re owed, since they paid into the state’s unemployment fund, when they were working.

And both would need to be done. There are a lot of driving jobs out there and if I needed to support my family I would take whatever I could. But I would also wait on the line to get my unemployment from the past weeks. I think I would need it

“I know that this may come as a very novel idea to some, but it seems to me that actually looking for a job would be a better use of that time.“

You understand that this is insurance that employers and employees contributed to, right? The NERVE of these INGRATES to dare ask the state to PAY UP.

Many of them may BE looking for a job, but this is money they paid into the system (along with their employers) and are owed. Some things you have to tackle in person because the website loads slowly or whatever the reason may be. It’s incompetence at the state level. Kentucky should be able to manage this, but it seems they have more important things to do like tell you to stay closed.

Eight hours. Ouch. That's what it used to be like to register a car in Washington, D.C. back in Marion Barry days. If you were lucky enough to get it done in one day, which required getting there early enough to get towards the front of the line.

The first line was the worst. The second line only took an hour or two. The third didn't take much waiting at all.

I should add that this was a very long time ago. It is now basically a pleasure to deal with DC government offices. For many of them, there is no waiting. If there is a wait, you take a number, take a seat in a reasonably comfortable waiting area, and are called fairly quickly. Even at the DMV, where I have run two older daughters through the license process in recent years, the wait is no worse than 20-30 minutes. Clerks are friendly and helpful. They also actually know what they are doing, which undoubtedly contributes to the positive attitude. In Marion Barry days, I'm sure a lot of the surliness was related to the fact that most offices were littered with incompetent patronage employees whose bad attitudes masked their embarrassment that they couldn't do their jobs and spent their days being humiliated in front of the people they were supposed to be helping. The competent employees were in a foul mood because they spent their days picking up the slack for the bad apples and dealing with irate citizens who were getting the runaround. That's all ancient history. If any statues get torn down in DC, I'd support putting up one to Anthony Williams as a replacement.

In Texas, I went online Monday and filled out some forms.

Wednesday I got notice My Wuhandout money was coming.

Today its marked pending in my bank account. I don’t NEED the money, but its free money.

The Foreign media is going to make it sound like the US is coming apart, but reality is, its not.

It’s all Indian H1B scumbags in charge of most states unemployment computer systems. Pathetic.
