One day 40 years ago, actor and stuntwoman Sharon Schaffer returned to her SUV after riding the waves at Silver Strand Beach in Oxnard, California, to find a racial epithet written in dirt on its windows.
In surfing, "there was always the good, aloha vibe," she said recently, "but behind the aloha vibe was the other vibe — a locals-only, whites-only vibe."
"I shrugged it off," said Schaffer, of Los Angeles and celebrated as U.S. surfing's first African American female professional. "But I don't think I would shrug that off so easily today."
U.S. surfing, still viewed as largely white and advantaged, may be undergoing a new awakening following the death of George Floyd. The sport that helped popularize the graphic T-shirt, birthed skateboarding and gave the world a name for loafing online is, like other American subcultures, confronting a scourge of racism that has thrived within its own ranks.
On June 5, Schaffer was received with loud applause as demonstrators seeking justice for Floyd, who died May 25 as a Minneapolis police officer held a knee to his neck, gathered on the beach in Santa Monica for a "paddle out" in his honor.
The paddle out is a Hawaiian ritual to honor the dead. It includes venturing beyond the surf line, forming a circle of people on their boards, splashing water and tossing flowers into the sea.
"We have a right to exist on this Earth," Schaffer told the crowd of people kneeling around her, some with surfboards in hand, according to multiple videos of the event. "We have a right to be in the water."

I was watching a forensics show yesterday and it showed the scientist trying to identify a body that was nothing but a skeleton and he demonstrated how he could tell if the body was that of a black person or not. He compared the femur (leg bone) of a white person and a black person and noted that the black person’s bones are denser than whites and straighter.
The old stereotype that “blacks can’t swim” is probably in part due to the science that blacks have less bouyancy (ability to float in water) thus must work harder to stay afloat in any deep water.
Sometimes there are valid reasons beyond racism why blacks are excluded.
I wonder what day of what month of what year it became too late to fight back in Germany?
I’d guess the day the Lord decided that this needed to be recorded history in order to have the evidence needed to properly judge the perps for their misguided thousand year Reich.

I have been told this by several blacks over the years. I also vaguely remember an article about the muscle composition subject. I also suspect that most urban people don’t get as much access to water to recreate in as do suburban and country people - no matter what color.

Actually in the early sixties I worked for Kitt Peak National Observatory and they had a fleet of Chevy Carryalls which looked like the Suburbans of today. We used these vehicles to drive to the mountain where the telescopes were. I even bought a used Carryall back then.
What, no free surfboards. If that's not the case; then get to the surf shop, buy a board, sign up for a few lessons and enjoy yourself. I doubt very much there are no more whites only beaches.
I discovered that the hard way learning to surf Oahu in the early 1960s. As time went on I found it was a small minority of locals who were actually violent. There were some spots on the west side that were no-go's for haoles but things were generally copasetic elsewhere once you understood the local pecking order and respect for your elders and betters. Same as it ever was.
This article though is another disgraceful attempt by Deep State Media trying to incite hatred. Beyond pathetic.

We whites deserve this and more.
We are the only group who refuse (actually forbidden) to play the identity politics game. Every other group and race promotes and defends their groups interests. We’re the only ones who just keep on taking it... with no end in sight.
It’s like I said before and it’s not an excuse but we have families and careers and homes and a lot to lose by going to the streets.
all these people on the other side don’t have jobs and the white ones are young and likely don’t have kids and the black ones likely don’t care if they have a kid so they don’t really have much to lose.
But if we keep waiting we will lose everything and not even get to fight.
The really big trouble is coming from the many politicians who are down with the movement and helping them as much as possible. They are the real power behind all of this because if they let the cops go Rambo on the crowds this would be over
