6 miles completed since last week's report - kind of average.

The President will visit the border at Yuma Arizona tomorrow (Tuesday, 23 Jun 20), to commemorate passing 200 miles completed.

No news of new contract awards in the last week, although it seems likely that they have stopped reporting them the way they used to, so some may have occurred as new task orders on pre-existing contracts, or as modifications to previous contracts (which are now the norm).

Picture does not appear, and I’d like to see it. I think it’s a broken link.

at this rate we should have about 320 miles by election day. It would be nice if Trump lit a fire under them and had 350-400 miles by election day.

The completed mile total would have been much greater if the Democrats and RINOs had not been obstructing President Trump these past 3+ years.

We need to reelect Trump to get more wall built, seat more conservative judges and continue MAGA !

It is just a summary slide, not a photo. It also reports 311,000 tons of steel, and 458,000 cubic yards of concrete have been emplaced so far.

Thx again for your persistence on this.

IMO, ARI will be heavy in the news cycle for the West in next 4 1/2 months. West has no electoral votes for Trump, except Alaska. Mountain West mostly red anyways with smaller attention to MT Senate seat and a House seat each in NM and UT to pick up.

AR’s 10 electoral votes a must. McSally Senate win a must. The economy is the biggest issue. With 400 miles of border wall, TSMC semi fab, and big military spending with lots of defense contractors in state a big payoff is needed out there.

With Ducey as governor making Trump rallies safer, from Texas to Arizona many will be held in those two states. El Paso covers the southern NM house district so expect Phoenix and suburbs and Tucson plus Texas to see Air Force one a lot.

738 either completed, under construction or under pre-construction. That’s nearly half way. I think it’s great progress.

I have observed the President do a lot to light the fire under those responsible for getting the Wall built, for a long time. We would never be this far, without him

He is a builder, and knows how to manage a construction schedule.

The pace of construction is on track to continue increasing through the Summer, as large awards have been made in the last couple of months, and money for a lot more remains to be awarded.

They typically reference how many miles they anticipate by the end of the year, rather than by election day or inauguration day. The most widely cited objective is 450 miles by the end of the year. That number has been cited by LTG Semonite, the Commanding General of the US Army Corps of Engineers, which is managing the Contracting. He is an authoritative source, and has been a reliable source.

“the us-mexico border is almost 2000 miles long.”

A huge analysis was conducted to justify the spending, and to get the most bang for the buck, from Wall funding.

In his fifth day in office, President Trump issued Executive Order 13767, directing the wall to be built, and for the study to be performed.

The bottom line is that only about half the border needs barrier to gain full operational control of the border (along with a few thousand more full time positions, and several technology programs). The President has already identified enough money to roughly build all the barrier in the plan (actual costs will vary). They are rushing to get all the mountain of funding awarded on contracts before the end of the year.

San Diego barrier before President Trump:

More recently:

The Enfocement Zone between the mighty 18 and 30 foot barriers has been extensively graded and cleared, with high speed road continuous - as well as stadium lighting, complete camera coverage and extensive alarm systems and sensors.

That place - the biggest city on the border, and historically the highest trafficked corridor for illegal traffic - will be firmly closed for the long term. The first 300-400 or so miles on the priority list (border cities and the Rio Grande Valley), account for well over 80% of traffic.

thanx for the update beaubo

“738 either completed, under construction or under pre-construction. That’s nearly half way. I think it’s great progress.”

Additionally, 221 miles of pre-existing barrier is assessed as effective, bringing the Program up to 959 miles.

1,100 miles of barrier was reportedly the number identified as really needed in the Comprehensive Plan, which was finally accepted by Congress in December 2018, after extensive vetting.

$3.6 billion in FY 2020 Military Construction funding was identified by the Administration for diversion to the Border Wall Program, but has not yet been transferred - so the miles it would build are not yet reflected in the weekly reports as pre-construction. That seems to be a generous amount to complete the rest of the identified mileage requirement (over $25 mil/mile (more than the average so far, for top of the line Wall System).

The technology programs from the Comprehensive Plan are also rolling out like gangbusters. The entire Arizona border 370 miles) is on schedule to have complete persistent surveillance by Integrated Fixed Towers (IFT) by the end of this year, for example.

So, what’s your point?

C,mon Cobra, John is conflicted.

He is overwhelmed with the fact that Trump is doing so well.

Bless his heart.
