Yep, gimpy or not, they're Dachshunds, all right. Lovable as hell, sharp as a tack, and loyal to a fault, but when they get distracted, the alpha/beta roles switch on a dime and you're the one following their lead. Been there, done that three times, and I'd do it a dozen more if we didn't have cats. (Dachshunds think cats are fun squeaky toys. Then they try to eat them. I watched ours once.)
