The “County Judge” may be the chief executive of the county. That is the way it is here in Kentucky. It was previously a judicial position in Kentucky but the duties of the office later were changed to being executive / legislative even though the title “Judge” remained.

Our “County Judges” in Kentucky are no longer judicial positions but are the chief executives of the county...that may be the way it is in Texas as well.

“The church choir got it without masks (large room, with spacing).”

The church choir got it early on. I’d bet money - if one can in church - that someone in the choir was coughing as well as singing. Based on my time in various church choirs....

Interesting how suddenly, cities, counties, and states all over the place are issuing these “everyone must wear masks everywhere” edicts. It is all very coordinated, as everything else to do with the Kung Flu has been...

That is correct. The "Commissioners Court" is the main executive body at the county level, setting county tax rates, county budget, administration of the county gov't. Dallas's has four district reps, and the county-wide chief executive, which is Clay Jenkins's position. He has a lot of power at the county level, though the whole court (again, county executive, NOT anything judicial) has slapped him down on several of his orders, such as $1,000 fines for people caught not wearing a mask.

Nope, all 100% asymptomatic. Singing is a well understood way of expelling droplets. Furthermore choir members are trained to breath deeply which gets more virus into the lungs.

Didn’t NY say something like 40-45% of their ChinaVirus caseload come from people sheltering in place / staying at home? And another 30-40% was the old folks’ homes?

Only maybe 20% was people that were still working or going auto bunch?

From early May: "A new survey of 1,300 patients at 113 hospitals around New York state suggests that 66 percent of all new hospitalizations are people who are sheltering at home."

Pretty easy to explain: someone brought it home.

Sure wouldn’t want to have to appear in this guy’s court. Sounds like you could possibly be found guilty even before the charges are read.

I expect the mask craze to continue through the first Tuesday in November when it will be replaced by just “craze”.

What Does a County Judge Do in Texas?

Presiding officer of the commissioners court
Represents the county in many administrative functions
Serves as budget officer in counties with fewer than 225,000 residents
Most have broad judicial duties, such as presiding over misdemeanor criminal and small civil cases, probate matters and appeals from the Justice of the Peace Court
Serves as head of emergency management

It is indeed a well-coordinated effort to slow the economic recovery and to maintain the elevated level of fear, distrust, depression and anger to November. It has nothing to do with “public health” and “social responsibility”. Only those who remain paralyzed with fear and thus have not thought the matter through Remain enamored of the mask-wearing fad. Understand?

"Someone brought it home" to 66% of their total positive cases? If it's that easy for one person going out to get it and bring it home, how come more people out and about didn't catch it? Assuming an average family of four, and everyone got it, that means ~22% of the total were the family member going out, catching it, and bringing it back home. And if 20% of the total (which is low) were these in nursing homes, that means we have -8% of the total remaining as those who caught it just going to work or being out, and not bringing it back to their families, who also probably weren't staying completely locked down.

No, the statistic is 66% of hospitalizations. If the people were randomly selected then we would expect more people who went out to get hospitalized. But obviously they are not random, the people who stay home are more likely to be unable to go out because they are not healthy to begin with.

As for how come more didn't catch it? They did. 25% of New Yorkers (city) have antibodies. Lots of people there caught it and didn't know it.

Bell County is Temple, Killeen, and Fort Hood.
