Bell County, TX to Require Face Masks

BELL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX)—Bell County Judge David Blackburn issued orders Wednesday that direct all businesses to require the use of face coverings by employees, customers, contractors and vendors on premises where physical distancing isn’t possible and “strongly encourage” residents wear face coverings in public places “where it is difficult to maintain social distancing.”

Any law enforcement agency can enforce the business directive, which goes into effect at 12:01 a.m. Monday and remains in effect at least through July 13.

Violations may be reported by calling (254) 933-5203.

Violators may be fined as much as $1,000.

I didn’t know that judges of Texas could make up their own laws? How will he enforce his ruling?

Good question. The police can’t be everywhere.

Is Judge David Blackburn a legislature of one?

I am losing (nope, I’ve lost it) hope that anyone in this country understands that laws must be passed by an elected legislature and signed by an elected executive to be legally valid.

Obviously law enforcement is clueless. “Just following orders”. I am rapidly losing interest in defending law enforcement since they/it seem to be uninterested in enforcing REAL laws.

They don't need to be. The phone number for reporting (squealing) on you by your neighbors is sufficient evidence for LE to show up at your door an threaten you. Don't doubt me on that. Your assh*le leftist neighbor will take a picture of you and the police/judge will rule that is sufficient evidence to fine you. No jury of your peers required.

The Nazis and their collaborators would have positively creamed over cell phone cameras.

Laws are passed and signed that allow for extraordinary measures in times of declared emergency.

I believe this kind of judge is an elected county chief executive, kind of like a county mayor.

They have a lot of emergency management powers.

I’m sure that number will be inundated with many prank reports. As for LE showing up at my house, I seriously doubt that’ll happen. 99.9% of people I see in public don’t know me or where I live. I can also just not answer the door because my hearing loss makes it difficult to hear a knock.

What’s next? Everyone is required to wear a condom during sex because they “may have” HIV and not know it and we must protect everyone.

Dallas county court judge has also been dinged for being more overbearing than the US house reps and mayors in other cities.

Not sure how to get Clay Jenkins out of the position unless someone runs against him.

And will the police in that county bother to enforce it?

El Paso has gone to mandatory masks, its such crap. Our big problem is the festering tick on our bottom called Juarez. Too much back and forth by families raises our Kung Flu numbers!

I’m not sure that the police will be needed to enforce it. The local businesses are in fear of being shut down and destroyed. They will refuse to allow patrons in without masks they will refuse to let their employees work without masks.

Do you want to buy food at the grocery store? Do you need something at Lowe’s? Do you need gasoline? Do you need your job? When you are not allowed to participate in commerce as a seller or consumer, you will have no choice but to comply. This is how fascists work. They don’t necessarily have to beat you or arrest you, all they have to do is starve you - and your family.

By the time the sheep look up they will already be in the slaughterhouse.

Most of these tyrants try to move the responsibility for the enforcement of these nonsense rules to the businesses or organization through threats to their licensing. Non-police and non-elected officials are then used to enforce the threats.

Our county (Tom Green) has approx. 110,000 people, 256 confirmed cases of the flu in four months, a couple dozen people hospitalized but recovered, and exactly 2 deaths of people with underlying conditions. The un-elected administrative and health “experts” are now trying to bring back the lockdown requirements.

These people have to be publicly exposed, mocked and humiliated. 256 cases of flu in four months!!!!!!!

Put the number on speed dial and start reporting the Judge and his fellow comrades for every violation no matter how short in duration, how slight, etc.

As for me, I will not comply.

Why not? The church choir got it without masks (large room, with spacing). The salon was mostly masked and it did not spread. So masks can limit the spread.

Reasons not to wear a mask: interferes with breathing. Slowing down the spread doesn't change the inevitable outcome. Personal carefulness: you choose not to talk in public, only breathe your nose and don't go out if you are feeling ill. The principle that it is illegal to quarantine or restrict someone who is not ill. Other reasons?

I live in CT where masks are mandatory. I have taken a different approach. Despite being open, I stopped patronizing them after I went out to eat and had the hostess read me about a dozen rules I hand to follow or they would ask me to leave and/or call the police to trespass me. Screw, it. I survived tow more weeks, er, months of delays of “re-opening”. If you want to treat me like I am walking black death, you won’t get my money.
