By John Deike and Rachel Vadaj | June 25, 2020 at 4:36 AM EDT - Updated June 25 at 4:36 AM LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WOIO) - Vice President Mike Pence will visit the Youngstown area on Thursday to attend the unveiling of Lordstown Motors’ new Endurance electric pickup truck.

Pence, now on the campaign trail with November quickly approaching, is expected to deliver remarks, and afterward, meet with law enforcement and community leaders.

The closing of the longstanding GM plant, and its 1,400-plus layoffs, drew ire from both sides of the aisle with President Donald Trump and Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) each criticizing the closure and calling for new jobs in the small Ohio auto town.

The unveiling will begin at noon., and will also include a speech from Cleveland businessman and Lordstown Motors CEO Steve Burns.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette and other government officials will also be in attendance.

Gov. Mike DeWine and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted toured the plant on Wednesday.

In hub motors susceptible to more individual knocks and dirt, grime, and water. Sometimes there is a mismatch in the turning rates of each motor as the vehicle encounters road anomalies. Requires sophisticated electronics. But good idea for predictable paths.

LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Vice President Mike Pence landed at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna early Thursday and will head over to Lordstown Motors for a noon unveiling of the all-electric Endurance pickup truck.

He will then be part of an event with community leaders and law enforcement at 1:30 p.m.

The vice president will be joined by Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette.

Lordstown Motors moved into the old GM Lordstown plant last year and joined the effort to rebrand the area as Voltage Valley, highlighting the company’s all-electric vehicles.

Lordstown Motors’ executive team is made up of leaders from Telsa, Toyota, GM VW, Hyundai, and others, according to the company’s website.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Lordstown Motors stands to be a competitor for the big three automakers, Ford, GM and Chrysler, and CEO Steve Burns says he plans to dominate the all-electric market.

Thursday, a group of protesters lined up near the plant in anticipation of Pence’s arrival. They carried signs that read, “Black Live Matter, “Pence You Make US Sick”,” and “Trump to Laid Off GM Workers: It doesn’t really matter.

This is the first time. I was listening to a Peak Prosperity podcast and they were saying that we didn’t have long until we run out of oil. I actually hope they are wrong.

They are wrong. Hint: the first time I heard about “peak oil” was 1978 and the president was Jimmy Carter.

That podcast was very good about championing HCQ and tracing the origins of the Coronavirus back to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. They try to get the big issues right I think. They stress self sufficiency.

Anyway, another Freeper had said we have 43 billion barrels of reserves which is good news if true.
