"Silver Springs" - Fleetwood Mac
Stevie Nicks: "I wrote 'Silver Springs' about Lindsey. And we were in Maryland somewhere driving under a freeway sign that said Silver Springs (sic), Maryland. And I loved the name
Silver Springs sounded like a pretty fabulous place to me. And, 'You could be my silver springs
', that's just a whole symbolic thing of what you could have been to me."
"Silver Springs (song)" [Wikipedia]

Ya done good! LOL!
It’s always fun to see who’s going to slide in first as soon as the doors open. Competition can be fierce some Fridays. :-)

Old map, though. The Kelly tire plant has been pushing daisies for 30+ years. And I'm ashamed to say I don't see ONE BLUE CRAB represented, unless they're generically referring to them as 'shellfish'. That's like calling Filet Mignon 'a piece of beef'.
I don't like the direction that state has been going, but I'm fiercely protective about my birthright and heritage.

Silver Spring, Md. was the site of my favorite record store in the DC area, Roadhouse Oldies, just off Georgia Ave. and a couple blocks from the DC line. They always featured a fabulous collection of collectible records. In 1979, I would often take the Metro there from Capitol Hill, where I worked with the Education and Research Institute.
Right next to the Silver Spring Metro site was a diner made from a railroad car. In the 1980's, this diner was replaced with a McDonalds.
I heard that it recently folded--most likely couldn't survive the Internet age.
Here's one of the gems I picked up in Silver Spring.

Man, I used to hear ‘Hot Razors In My Heart’ by Crack The Sky on the Baltimore radio stations all the time back home. And yeah, Greg Kihn was a Ballmer boy, where my aunt and uncle lived for 50 years. He did some good stuff. I was 18 when ‘The Breakup Song’ came out. I heard it when I broke up with a girlfriend and it was a real buzzkill, until I had a new girlfriend the next week, then it killed me laughing. LOL The band Kix was also a Maryland band, from Hagerstown. Scored a platinum album and won an MTV music award in ‘88, IIRC. A bunch of us partied with them once in the parking lot of an abandoned Pizza Hut late one night in the early 80’s.
