Highest number of cases, according to whom?
Highest number of deaths, according to whom?
Who is generating all these statistics, and exactly how accurate are they?
Pardon me for being cynical, but certain elements from what are supposed to be responsible institutions have been wrong about quite a lot since this whole thing began. Furthermore, many of these same institutions have been caught “cooking the books” to further some political agenda on more than one occasion. Credibility is being destroyed on a daily basis by those who are seeking something other than “to inform”.

Well, I do suppose the “books could be cooked”, but that would require a pretty large (maybe even huge) number of people to be “in on it”.

The data I’m quoting is from https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ but it’s very similar to data from any other source, of which there are many. I haven’t checked Johns Hopkins recently, but I’m sure it’s similar if not identical since all the data comes from the health agencies of various cities, states, etc and these sites just aggregate and display it.
