Every source says it’s been Mississippi’s state flag since the 1890s. If you’re actually old enough to recall its adoption, maybe you’re senile and thinking of Georgia and its state flag adopted in 1956?
IF you sources are CORRECT (I believe that they are NOT.= The press LIES as often as they tell the truth.), then I remember when the “battle flag design” was RE-ADOPTED. - Our family was living in Bay St Louis at the time, where my dad was coaching FB.
(The design was considered by the press as being “- - - - a thumb in the eye of the civil rights movement”.- The LIBS HATED the battle-flag even back then.)
The photos of the flag were seemingly in EVERY days’ Jackson newspaper..
