but trying to apply contact tracing to some thing is ubiquitous and silly as this virus than anybody you’ve even been around is utterly and completely ridiculous

Contact tracing makes perfect sense when a virus is sexually transmitted. People damn well know from whom they may have caught it, and following that trail is something public health has done for many years.
For an airborne virus it’s folly.
